講演題目:「Fabrication of high performance ceramics by advanced colloidal processing」

To date, there is however no through systematic study of microstructure and mechanical development through advanced colloidal processing. From this point of view, in this seminar, I will present the recent achievements deal with the development of state-of-the-art's high performance ceramics with full density, defect-free, ultra- fine grained microstructure and high mechanical properties based on advanced colloidal processing techniques. The investigation is rather comprehensive, accounting for all processing steps from powder processing, suspension preparation, dispersion and suspension rheology, colloid and surface chemistry, consolidation and sintering and final mechanical properties. Also, I will present the results obtained from several measurement techniques which are significantly shown that the process optimization based on advanced colloidal dispersion enables the generation of homogeneous, defect-free, high dense and controlled fine-grained microstructure of different types of high performance ceramics with desired high mechanical properties, indeed. Finally, a new generation of high performance alumina- toughened zirconia (ATZ) ceramic composite with high dense, fine-grained homogeneous microstructure of nearly 100% of its theoretical density which has been successfully developed based on colloidal processing will be introduced.
